I felt bad for Sadao, he surely was a hooligan, but at the same time he was the only true heir remained.
The ending left me speechless, i didn’t see that coming… after all that happened. Probably the best Toshiro Mifune’s interpretation, really went on berserk, especially at the end. The duo Mifune-Nakadai is too much underrated, when they are on a movie together it’s a must watch and a masterpiece.
An endless research of the true love using as a means the immortal beauty of cinema, ending in the most poetical way possibile. The animations were something that i’ve never experienced in my life, so breathtaking and so beautiful to see. The using of the filmmakers in a omiscent way was an incredible idea and also very funny. But this movie is a complete tribute to cinema and to his immortal uniqueness, which makes you think about how much Satoshi Kon loved it. Anyone who truly loves movies absolutely must not miss this gem.
