    The Conjuring

    ★★★★

was wondering why The Conjuring remains scary for a big budget studio horror - excellent cinematography, busy plot - but not too busy (caring about multiple events with stakes distracts actually creates tension and makes you forget about why the family won’t just leave), jump scares not too cheap and used sparingly and characters you actually care about.

James Wan is a good director, but still not sure about his choices with production.
