Classic, standard, sleek and sophisticated spy movie. Even better that it’s set in the UK for the Anglophiles among us. The plot had just enough twist that it’s not “just” another Mr. and Mrs. Smith. 3.5 instead of 4 because a lot of the tropes were pretty standard, but it was still fun to watch

Queen & Slim 2019
An extra half star because the film’s setting, lighting, and costumes were all visually striking and took us to that world in a visceral way. But 2 stars because the plot was infuriating and silly. I found it hard to suspend disbelief because the character’s choices were so perplexing at times

This movie is very entertaining, and I brought it up in class discussions for a week after I watched it, but I’m not sure it should have won Best Picture. Mikey Madison was super cute. Also reminded me a little of Spring Breakers in terms of indulgence and debauchery gone wrong. Hustlers too, for that matter. I think I just enjoy these type of stories, especially with women leads
