Moonlight 2016
One of the few things i love so much about this movie is how it tackles the intersecting identities of Chiron, like race and sexuality. Specifically the complexities of understanding yourself through these inseparable parts of your reality.
The construction of Chiron’s masculinity throughout the three chapters is also so impressive. Especially how we see it being challenged by Juan, Tyrell and Kevin throughout different points of his life. For example we see how those intimate moments in his adulthood…
