National Theatre Live: The Lehman Trilogy

"Sure I liked this, but what's that last bit all about? What's the point?" A man behind me asked his friend as the credits started rolling on the screen, and I was busy wiping tears off my face.

I have almost no prior knowledge of Lehman Brothers, but that was not needed: the storytelling is succinct and efficient, the three actors play every character over the span of 150 years and they are all great, versatile and funny and moving…

justice for háma who did not, in fact, ride an old horse into battle

    Touristic Intents

should’ve come with a seizure warning. “can a building be guilty” is such an empty tagline; sure the building is guilty in the sense that it’s a product of your guilt and therefore a reminder of it, we really don’t need the whole runtime to figure this out. the ford connection is rather underdeveloped except for in the interviews (which are good); the same goes for the luxury condos and developers, even though the scenes are sufficiently disturbing and do speak a lot for themselves.

LOVE that moment when steven yeun yawns, it’s like everything clicks (this makes sense in context, i promise).

  • Richard III: The King in the Car Park

Richard III: The King in the Car Park

that moment when the initiator of the project, Phillipa Langley, asks if she can put Richard’s flag on top of the box.
