    I really enjoyed the human character designs, but the message of the film is so muddled and seemingly contradictory to what they were attempting to set up that it feels like three separate under-developed movies squeezed into one.

    The soul world feels so corporate, uncreative, and pseudo-intellectual as if it was written by people who believed their “world-building” to be much smarter and deeper than it really is.

    Solid performances and really great costumes. I find myself wishing there was more commitment in the ending, but when you’re dealing with a story that has multiple interpretations I can see how easy it could be to fall into the trap of wanting to please everyone. That being said, the ambiguous final shot was intriguing in a way I deeply enjoyed, leaving me with a lot of thoughts to mull over long after the film ended.
