i really liked these movies and also spent like 4 hours reading about the plot of dune on wikipedia. i thought timothee did a good job and there were some really cool fights. i like the way the political crisis emerges from the interplay of everyone trying to shift things for their own benefit, it feels very true to how moments of rapid political change actually play out. i don’t know if it would’ve made sense if i hadn’t taught myself dune lore yesterday but, i was able to understand and like the movie without reading the book.
