I kind of wish this film remained a mystery for me. This circling metaphor of the cuckoo bird life cycle and a dig at “suffocating societal norms”, I feel drained as I watched this film quite literally dig its own grave.

Jojo Rabbit 2019
Definitely not a flawless film but this film surprised me and I actually really liked it! This satire through the perspective of a child highlights the indoctrination of war in context of Nazism. It’s humorous but tender and ultimately teaches that as much as humans are capable of being monsters, when we make an effort to connect we discover that we have more in common than we think. Also, Scarlet Johansson’s performance is phenomenal.
