Didn't like. Yeah Nic Cage gave it his all but kinda just acted like the meth addicts on the streets of my city. Excellent production hiding a mediocrely told story.

The first scene is one of the best. Which I am historically a sucker for. For sure a five star first scene, an excellent pregame, it’s a very fun watch.
I was more scared in the first, disappointingly. Sometimes I like being a little troubled the night after a horror movie. I already have trouble sleeping, why not make it a little exciting. Another thing, the universe has pushed the it’s all a dream thing about as far as I’ll allow without hating it. Jeremy Saulner can do some grade A fucking pacing without having to minimize his grandiose stories. I don’t think anyone realized how rare that is. Rebel Ridge was top 10 on Netflix so hopefully it’s happening finally but it should’ve happened during blue ruin. It’s kinda how I’d imagine a good epic poem goes or how an excellent story would go back when we were just discovering the wheel. Like anciently good storytelling talent. One of the most historically valuable talents in human evolution.
