Went back to watch some more of Barantini's stuff after Adolescence and I can't believe I missed this for so long. Really brilliant filmmaking, super stressful and raw. Had a similar energy to Shiva Baby, which is another stellar film, so no surprise that I also loved this.

Hard Truths 2024
I wasn’t too sure about where the plot was going and the pacing felt a bit off, but the more I just immersed myself in the film the more I enjoyed it. Felt really grounded and full of emotion, just what I needed to watch right now.

I'm such a sucker for a British mini-series. I only intended to watch the first episode but ended up bingeing it all in one sitting. The whole one shot per episode thing is logistically so cool, and I immediately went to watch all four behind-the-scenes Netflix featurettes to see how on earth they pulled it all off.
