The Menu 2022
I feel like it’s easy to forget the complexity of food and of eating. The dinner table becomes a familiar space associated with comfort, but we overlook how economically and socially charged the environment can be. We’re all confined to this liminal place which dictates our actions three times a day, every day, for the rest of our lives. There’s a level of trust that comes with sitting at the table and eating (taste, savour, consider), and The Menu makes me so horribly hyper-aware of this. Lots to unpack, genuinely entertaining to watch, not too predictable. Yummy film
