  Rewatched this again with the eyes of a 25 year old and it is so much more emotional than I remember.

  Luca is soooo good at depicting desire, and I could feel every inch of Elio’s body movements, his awkward aggression, him trying to act older than he is… so painfully accurate and true

  I love this movie so much, at the risk of sounding like an armie hammer apologist, but this movie has broken my heart again

  The first time I watched this movie I was 14. I didn’t know much about “relationships” so my perception about marriage and getting older and was formed by this movie.

  When I was younger I found myself gravitating and romanticising younger versions of the characters, but now, as I’m in a relationship myself I find myself scared of the parallels between how I generally experience relationships and this movie.

  I wish this movie didn’t hurt me anymore but it still…
