Fantastic movie about living up to your own historical expectations, and what it means to just do this life thing. Funny, sad, complex while being straightforward. The characters are so good and so nuanced, just really loved it.

Pretty woman if Maxxxine was cast in the Brutalist. A classic tale of the ultra rich being so self absorbed that they ruin the lives of everyone around them, even getting priests to abandon their posts in order to babysit.

I hadn’t heard much about it other than it was good and funnier than expected. That’s a great way to see it. Loved the rounded supporting characters like Igor and the increasing insanity, felt a bit like Burn After Reading.
It doesn’t really get going until the second act, and there is no way my mom would watch 30 seconds of the first act.

A good movie based on a true story of what it means to work on a deep ocean oil pipeline. The movie stands out for the tropes it avoids more than the brilliant choices it makes. The characters feel like real people that do a job they like and are good at.  I love watching folks do their jobs well. They have the calm temperament of astronauts under pressure. No one is overly macho or egotistical. There are no “dirty…
