  “Knew what?”
  “What I was never sure of with you.”

  Right. Love just kinda sucks. You know a movie is well written when I feel bad for the man (helps that it’s Joseph Gordon Levitt but I digress.)

  The expectation vs reality scene was so beautiful and creative.

  “He’s 17 and he’s 24” “The age gap was uncomfortable and problematic!”
  You’re kidding! 
  That is quite literally the point. Obviously that age gap is problematic, but in this movie, the age gap isn’t romanticized and it’s told from the younger person‘s perspective. Which is what makes it so heavy. If this film were about the heartbreak of a 24 year-old who couldn’t have a 17-year-old and they romanticized the age gap it would be different.
