Well, that certainly was a lot. It was beautifully filmed, and the comedic parts were genuinely funny. But even though there was a lot to take in, I felt the pace of the movie was stop and go. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining from beginning to end, but some scenes had me all in, almost moved to tears, while there were others thay I couldn't quite get into. All in all, this movie was fun to watch and deserved all the hype it generated.
This is a 6 episode docuseries about the formula of what goes into making a great movie. The host is a film instructor, so be prepared to learn something (but in a fun way). And each individual episode is a standalone with a common theme. It has a lot of examples of the point he is trying to o make by using movie clips. I FINALLY got to see "The Substance"! It's a well-done, fun body horror with some amazing cinematography and a thought provoking story. I think my 4 star rating is somewhat based on the fact that I waited so long to watch it. And, by the time I saw it, I had already caught what the ending was going to be. And, as with most movies, this one is best to go in blind.

What a fun movie! And that's seriously the best way I can describe it without giving anything away. The only thing better than the unexpected, creative kill scenes was the humor, which made it that perfect balance between light and dark. I laughed out loud one minute and gasped in shock the next. The characters were all quirky but likeable, but even if you did't like them, they will likely die an abrupt and horrible death, so it's enjoyable either…
