  It is amazing that there really was a performing arts program at Sing Sing prison. Yes, because it is an amazing thing in itself, but also because it seems too good to be true. 
  The paradox of a prison on a lush hill overlooking the Hudson River lends itself so perfectly to the creation of art, and this film truly captures this paradox. 
  It would have been close to perfect if it didn’t include many of the typical prison movie tropes.
