think -jungian metaphor- or -freudian tableau - it's like less than literal, like it's about psychoanalysis / psychoanalyzing the characters - it's obviously dated and problematic but it's trying to say something about the inner child and the past and capitalistic newspaper systems - they're all being exploited by systems that take advantage of their feelings and they are simultaneously haunted by their pasts but in a way that is true for everyone
like how people bullied me in high school affects…
