The first half was a bit of a slog. Seemed like it was full of troupes like the older agent partner who is 3 days from retirement. Guess what happens to him! But I loved the second half, which upended expectations and did something different. Willem Dafoe is also great in an early villain role.

The Heartbreak Kid 1972
I like Neil Simon. I like Elaine May. I like Charlies Grodin. However, I just didn't gel with this one. I can enjoy awkward comedy and there are some great comedic moments, but seeing Grodin's self-absorbed character be terrible and not get some kind of comeuppance was rather unsatisfactory.
