A slightly odd concept I will say, however very well executed. It was funny, entertaining and by far not easy to predict. Humourous moments were always unforeseen but still incredibly effective, the plot was easy to follow, flowing well but with small added twist that kept me engaged. A solid, captivating film.

Excellently paced, and one of Bale’s acting performances with the most conviction in my opinion. The Bateman-centric focus is invigorating, giving a humanised sense to a character who quite literally epitomises the morals of comic villains (Joker etc.). The satiricism of his appeal being beyond some people is the irony of the first place, because Patrick Bateman is not escaping the the parallel norms of an ordinary life, he is a rich yuppie who gets what he wants through slyly…

An exhilarating, in-depth court drama that was immersive, and contained 12 well balanced characters which all seemed to be of equal significance to the story. They all carried a different perspective, which was well written enough for the audience to empathise with each and every one of them. As the arguments were being made, it was interesting to see what was the tipping point for each character, as it matched their personality and backstory. It was also intriguing seeing at which point I myself was convinced of one verdict or the other.

A phenomenal film. Exceptional storytelling and character development. It was never boring, there were some truly amazing camera shots, and I think everything Meirelles wanted to convey was absolutely there.
