Not sure what I was expecting from this film but I had heard good things about it. There were several poignant moments between Lady Bird and her parents, but it seemed like the movie ended abruptly and I thought her attitude change at the end was unsupported and sudden.
first time that I actually made it all the way through a version of Emma - I know I've tried watching other versions in the past and they just didn't hold my interest. Bill Nighy plays a wonderfully quirky father to Emma. I was surprised to see the credits list a "specialist knitted and crochet textile artist" and I didn't even notice any knit and crochet items in the scenes. I usually pick up on that immediately in other shows and movies since that's my main pastime nowadays... Odd...
Watched this mainly for the Jason Mamoa eye candy. Thoroughly enjoyed unintended bit towards the end of the ship-board battle where female archer was speared and obligingly jumped backwards to "fall" to her death in the ocean - lol. Ron Perlman always does good work - and Rose McGowan was very creepy as the evil witch.
