  I played baseball for eight-something years growing up and spent many-a-summer after that watching my sister play softball, yet the sport holds no special place my heart. Maybe I've repressed my feelings to avoid remembering the many painful fastballs I took to the ankle. Or the shame I felt dropping a can of corn and allowing the winning run.   INFORMAL REVIEW / HOOK:
  i would have preferred a movie entirely about bella piecing english words together, gallivanting around europe, learning the pleasures & pitfalls of sex, befriending silly sweet old ladies, dancing, and reading emerson, sans all the men trapping her... alas, we received only 90ish minutes of bella being bella + 50 minutes of mark ruffalo and christopher abbott (aka marnie’s ex from the award-winning hbo series girls) acting buffoons.
