I struggled with the docufiction aspect of this film as I felt like I was missing context. Since I was not alive in the 80s when this movie came out, I do not understand the social/political climate around feminism and women’s movements at this time. Even without the full context, the film was insightful and thought provoking to the struggles of women and women organizing for change.

I would be interested to hear from people more well versed in the history of feminist movements because it is difficult at times to understand whether the film is supporting, satirizing, or directly opposing certain ideas.

As I watched this film, I was reminded a lot of Psycho and The Elephant Man. The horror turn, the score, and the final act confessional gave me a lot of the same unnerving horror events that are unique to Psycho.

As for The Elephant Man, the general imagery and the themes around deformities felt familiar especially with the circus scenes. Both films hit at this deep, almost uncomfortable, type of empathy that is hard to describe but it very profound.

Even though I felt physicallly sick at points, I thoroughly enjoyed this film

Nice meditative film with beautiful dream sequences. A masterclass acting on how facial expressions can tell a story by itself

The beauty and power of storytelling. Film is an integral part in the history and evolution of storytelling and The Fall speaks to this in a contemporary manner while honoring the films and people that made films a popular art form so we could enjoy something like this almost 100 years later.

I look forward to watching this movie many times throughout my life
