  Garbage filmmaking. The fact that The Electric State exists and is probably going to be the number 1 film streaming on Netflix this weekend makes me sick. There is virtually nothing of any merit here. It’s not entertaining, it’s not acted well, it’s not funny (whatsoever), it’s not visually appealing (even despite having a $320 million budget), it’s not original (even in the slightest), etc. It’s filth. As for the Russo Brothers, do better.

  Dune: Part Two is pretty much the magnum opus of 2024 cinema for me. (Though I have not seen The Brutalist yet..) It is an incredible feat of cinema. Our generation’s Empire as some have called it.   An incredible feat of cinema. Rumor has it after Scorsese saw an early screening of As the Streets Fell Silent, he was put into a depressive episode that eventually motivated him to direct Goodfellas.
