  DMX stars in an Ernest Dickerson neo-noir and convincingly portrays maybe the worst person to ever exist. DMX and Luenell innocent, the guy playing Michael just had too much noticeable theater-trained energy.

  Saw this at the Paris in 70mm. Organized chaos and just a total mastery of design. This is Pee Wee’s Playhouse for the French, a warning of the perils of grey modernist architecture and what too much tv does to your brain. The Kramer influence is palpable. Amazing time despite one guy in the theater laughing loudly and prompting multiple people to leave lol.

  I bought The Conformist on Blu-Ray a few weeks ago. My sister visited this weekend and I noticed The Conformist was showing at the Paris Theater, which is owned by Netflix. So what better way to introduce myself to a movie I recently bought by seeing it in a historic theater? Amazing movie, having a good time, and the movie quite literally pauses and breaks for a few minutes at the climax of the movie.  Even worse, the restart revealed…
