An impressive directorial debut from Anna Kendrick. An intriguing angle on a true crime story, the framing device works well and the mix of timelines is done in a really coherent way. Nicely shot, looks great, and generally an engaging movie.
Overall a bit too contrived, and the period detail, especially in the dialogue, could have been a lot tighter.

I read today that filming has wrapped on the remake of The Boys In The Band for Netflix, but it isn't due to be released for another year, presumably to coincide with the 50-year anniversary of the original.
