A horror comic cosmic epic seven years in the making. Spirit Riser is epic on many scales - visual, emotional, innovative - but most importantly it's wildly entertaining and endlessly charming. It lulled me with it's hypnotic tone until the apocalyptic end that must be experienced to be believed. A true touchstone of post neo-underground cinema. See it!

The Substance 2024
As if Frank Henenlotter shared a brain with David Cronenberg and created a new body dysmorphia horror/creature feature classic. The ending was hyped up for me, but I was still shocked by how hard it went. Great flick!

Revenge of the Cheerleaders 1976
Out of control, self aware(was that possible in the 70's?), gonzo and just plain WEIRD! Cannot recommend this movie enough. The producers of REVENGE OF THE NERDS owe a lot to this one. About as fun as exploitation cinema gets.
