The film had a lot on its plate, story-wise. It did not provide resolution to most of the plot points, but the lead's chemistry somehow saves the movie. Overall, it is a feel-good movie that would have worked better with fewer distractions.

The energy of the film went downhill with the second act. There were standout performances from Kendrick and Streep but it was overall not memorable for me.

An "okay" commentary on the dynamics of modern society. Though a sci-fi film set in space, it stays grounded by exploring the evils of capitalism. Strong performances from Pattinson, Ruffalo, and Colette, but it loses points for failing to stick the landing with a stronger ending.

On the upside, the film delicately handled the sensitive subject matter. There were some pacing issues as it felt that the movie took too much time building up then suddenly rushed the third act. The soundtrack was perfect and over-all, I wanted to read the book right after watching.
