This movie is possibly rated too highly by myself due to the sentimentality I hold for it. Alien genre movies that have a semi solid plot and aren’t made of gore/action scenes are few and far between. Contact disguises itself as sci-fi film but pushes the concept of faith and science being two entities that can coexist and, in fact, build upon each other. With a couple of good twists, Jodie’s performance is endearing and leaves you resonating on the movie’s famous thought provoker- “The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space”
