  In the hypothetical 2020's adaptation Paul Newman double crosses Robert Redford at the end only to be double-double crossed when... you sonofabitch... those pretend FBI fellas were actually real FBI fellas the whole time!

  Then Soliano and Redford drive into the sunset (they actually fell in love despite the odds)...

  Cue the Bellagio fountains!
