  Evil Dead Rise 2023

  There were parts of this I absolutely loved (The opening scene & title card, all the blood, the nods to previous films, the female leads, and the final boss demon!)

  But there was also so much that lacked for me. I think seeing all the hype and previews completely skewed my expectations, which makes me wonder if I had gone into this blind would I have enjoyed it more?

  I think my expectations were a tad high based on others reviews of the movie, which unfortunately left me feeling like this film lacked a lot of gruesome & disturbing factors. (I was thinking more along the lines of Midsommar or Hereditary).
  This felt way more lighthearted & comedic.
