while the story is compelling, I fail to see why so many put up with Tomas, his character never redeems himself, he’s just this pathetic manipulator. I saw many similarities to Sean Bakers “Red Rocket” both feature manipulative maladaptive characters However what Red Rocket does better is show Mikey’s redeeming actions, he is never just forgiven. Unlike Tomas who just keeps barging in and hurting those around him never giving them a reason to keep him around.
