Pleasantly stupid. Actually pretty camp tbh, but it would be better if they either went all in or showed some restraint. Instead it strains our suspension of disbelief without really managing to be fully intentionally funny.
Quite a few times I got worried that this was going to have some kinda bio-essentialist view of pregnancy as essential to women but thankfully it went down the route of critiquing the commercialism of reproductive health instead. I would like an egg but I don't want it to come with an app.

Crazy how much of a Hayffie shipper I am solely because of the movies. I feel like Elizabeth Banks put so much into her role and Woody Harrelson stumbled outta bed and walked straight onto set.
There's so much in this that is great politics and commentary for a YA series but I don't have the time to get into that right now. The books certainly have more real estate to do that.
