  my biggest problem with this movie is they wrote mr reed to be insufferable and went on to cast hugh grant.

  then again, i would probably have shut this off halfway through if they had any other actor babble on about atheism and radiohead for an hour.

  i find it difficult to capture my feelings toward this movie without having watched chungking express. i loved the glossy camera work and surprised myself with how much i enjoyed the non-linear narrative. there is a lot to love, despite it being so unlike any movie i've seen before. maybe that's just a testament to wong kar-wai's genius.

  i had a lot of fun watching this, but i do think i need to rewatch it after chungking express in order to fully appreciate its themes.
