A lot of people think we're seeing the death of cinema, and I feel this way sometimes too, but at the same time we're living in a time where an absolute beautiful masterpiece from front to back like this just came out a few years ago. There is hope.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi 2017
This movie makes it clear that there will always be a Darth Vader. There will always be an Emperor. There will always be a Luke Skywalker. There will always be tyranny and resistance, good vs evil. That's why I have no problem ending the series here, on this high note. No need to see the conclusion. Even if Rise of Skywalker was okay or decent, I'd maybe still feel this way. It's similar to how I usually stop at Spider-Man 2 and definitely always stop at Terminator 2.
The last hour of this movie is everything.

Spider-Man 2 2004
Nothing’s as bad as uncertainty, and life is full of uncertainty. Even in the final shot you can see in MJ’s face she might already be kinda regretting her choice. Both MJ and Peter be playing games in this. This was probably my most cynical viewing ever of my favorite movie(relationship stuff has fucked me up recently in life lol)
