Yeah, that’s right. I gave this shit four stars, and you want to know why? Because it really dumb. I agree with many comments in that you could hardly call this a Godzilla movie beyond the name. The dialogue and the relationships feel so unrealistic and stupid, the effects are so wildly different than typical Godzilla films, but GOD(zilla), I grew up with this. THIS was my kaiju movie, and honestly, it still slaps. It’s so ridiculous, and I love all the characters. The comedy is what saves this film. I cry (and laugh) every time. Amazing! Show-stopping! Big! Will watch again :)

I caught the ugly! This was a movie, and it did happen. I didn’t realize this was the beginning of a series of films, I don’t know how many and I don’t know that I care. There were some interesting bits, but it all felt, dare I say, superficial LOL! Love Laverne Cox, love Joey King, not sure I love them in this film, but that’s okay!
Also, I’m confused, and maybe it’s better explained in the book (or maybe not), but does anyone have a job? Or is there just a society of Uglies and Pretties and everything is self-sustaining automatically? Kinda wild!

Eggers is insane. I've seen The Witch, and now I've seen The Lighthouse. Both movies are so fantastically stunning in their simplicity, they evoke so much emotion and meaning. There are plenty of hidden details here, and I'm sure I missed a lot on my first viewing. I think this is a movie worth watching several times over.

Defoe and Pattinson gave 10/10 performances, and GOD what a way with words for the both of them. They both had incredibly…

This is a classic, and it deserves all of the things. Love the pot-induced shared psychosis, love the hijinks, love the thrill, and LOVE the women! I also love that the office became a WeWork space, and so very 80s. I know there's a musical version of this, which I'd love to see. I would also just watch this again in a heartbeat :)
