CODA 2021
I'm a sucker for a happy family coming of age story. Strong performances in a film fully grasping within its reach, able to hit story beats on time for an emotional pick-me-up. It's 2022, that's allowed.

The Matrix Resurrections 2021
Matrix 2 & 3 used theory to complicate real vs unreal, us vs them. Resurrections is more clear in rejecting binary choice or othering on screen. With narrative and broadened set of characters, this film relies more sifi weirdness instead of Christian imagery.
