“I’m so sorry, son”
First Letterboxd worthy film I’ve seen in a hot minute.
Connection, reconnection, reflection
A resonating and complex story about generational trauma and its lasting impact. Written and directed superbly by Jesse Eisenberg. Co-starring gracefully beside Kieran Culkin, Eisenberg shines the spotlight on Culkin throughout the film and it pays off tenfold.
Couldn’t keep my eyes off Kieran Culkin (pause), what a performance.
🚂🪦🪨
“I love him and I hate him and I wanna kill him, and I wanna be him, you know? And I feel, like, so stupid around him…”
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
If not for the messaging in the beginning of the film and footage at the end, I would’ve thought this was fiction.
But nope, David Duke is a real person and actually reminds me of one or two people in our current coalition govt in nz. 🤫 nahhh shuuuush.
Enjoyed the film. Reminded me of the time an old white lady told me I speak great English. 👍🏼
"Politics? It's Another Way To Sell Hate."
Remarkable, gorgeous, surreal, disgusting and disturbing.
