It's amazing how many bad movies I end up watching, despite my best efforts.

Really well-produced and well-researched (and brutally honest!) Documentary on a misunderstood and little-known icon in the film industry.

The fact that they could take a guy who should be unsympathetic and make him relatable (if not empathetic) is a testament to this film.

It also saddens me that there is now a generation of film goers who do not know the acerbic wit and wisdom (and occasional unvarnished brutality!) of his reviews.

Like Fred Roger's, there will never be another Roger Ebert, flaws and all!

As a stand-alone movie, this is laughably bad and barely can hold itself together for it's under 90 minute run-time.

As a parody of Squid Game, it's TOTALLY GENIUS! Stripped of any shreds of empathy or character development, the low-rent production values, the blatant commercialism, the melodrama of the beyond silly "games", and the all-around over-the-top terrible acting all surprisingly worked in this features favor.

Is this good? FUCK, NO. Is it terrible? Probably not. But is it fun to mock? HELL, YEA!

While I (mostly) liked this, it also took quite a few liberties with the source material (some major, most minor.)

While the first film focused primarily on characters and motivation, thus film focuses more on political intrigue and combat. (Also, this film took quite a long "time-out" to set up Feyd Rautha for ultimately a non-payoff.)

But visually, Dennis Villeneuve really brought the world and people of Arrakis to vivid life, perhaps even more than the first.

    There's a lot…
