i originally intended to see it in a theater for the 40th anniversary, but apparently the only times theaters are playing it is in september, for what i can only assume are "3-months-after-the-40th-anniversary" events
that disappointment aside, it was as fantastic as ever. it has a solid plot, excellent submarine warfare, and the through-line about aging makes it feel quintessentially Star Trek. and, of course, Ricardo Montalban hams it up exquisitely.
