    Interesting movie!

    It's a bit all over the place, both thematically and formally. Thematically, the movie tries to grapple with a lot of themes, but I'm not sure it goes far enough with any of them to say something truly interesting in the end.

    Furthermore, I'm a bit confused by the message at the very end ("the destination etc."), and how we are supposed to take it.

    The editing and mise-en-scène are simply breathtaking at times. There are moments when you think that the visuals are out of this world, and when taking into account the fact that this was filmed in 1927... The bridge scene at the beginning is one of the most astounding moments I've seen.

    Shoutout to the accompanying group at the screening I saw at La Cinémathèque. Their music score was perfect for the film.

    There are a couple of pacing issues unfortunately…

    Went to see this litterally on the first time slot it was available lol.

    And well it's the first half of Dune version Denis Villeneuve, as expected. Beautiful cinematography (if a little gray at times) and great editing are on par for the course. Rebecca Ferguson stands out among a stacked cast. The music is one of Zimmer's best in quite some time.
