its a nice awkward comedy, like a bunch of painfully awkward moments compiled into one early 2000s movie. some of the dialogue is really funny, and of course the awkward cringe factor adds to it. its about a man who wants to propose to his girlfriend, but before doing so, he must get the approval from her father, who is no ordinary man one has to win over. he has a lot of complexes and comes off as very intimidating…
really interesting movie. it’s over one hour long and the climax and resolution take place in the last 15 minutes. at 16 minutes left, i was really confused because there was no storyline, no plot, basically the entire duration of the movie was similar to experiencing a day in their life, almost like taking a peek of their life through a window. no storyline, barely any climax, yet a very well produced movie. totoro is honestly so cute but the movie itself really surprised me.
