This film beautifully studies the enigmatic death of a husband / father, by not lamenting on whether the wife did it, but whether she will be found guilty for it. It examines relationships and the risk of siloing events and circumstances, that so often a courtroom must do. It’s wonderfully acted, told, shot.

Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood 2022
Linklater loves a warm cup of nostalgia, and there is truth in a yearning for simpler times. Though with Stonewall, Vietnam and the Civil Rights Movement all underway in the 60s, it begs the question - simpler for whom?
This aside, Linklater can tell a story, and this one is captivating, authentic, bold and beautiful.
Will be interesting to see if the academy reconsider their disqualification of this film…

Extreme Private Eros: Love Song 1974 1974
A powerful piece of work that has its audience questioning the intention of such work throughout its evolving process. Not because an intention doesn't exist but because, whether deliberate or not, the film is packed with psychological, emotional and political happenings that aren't always necessarily present in any singular scene but as a collective.
