March Around the World 2025: Chile 🇨🇱

When my oldest kid was little, her dad thought it would be funny if he taught her to say “is this a metaphor?”, because it is a little funny to hear that come out of the mouth of a 3 year old. I kept thinking of her saying that as I watched this. And to be perfectly honest, the metaphor was a bit lost on me. La casa lobo is unlike anything I’ve…

Wow. I am now most definitely a fan of Lila Aviles. So much warmth and beauty despite the undercurrent of sadness and tragedy. I love how the film makes the viewer feel as they are dropped in the middle of all the action, and at many times, it’s seen through the eyes of the child. Gorgeous filmmaking.
