    Seedpeople

    ★★

Producer Charles Band's Seedpeople rips off Invasion of the Body Snatchers—and by "rips off," I mean it’s practically waving a knockoff flag. Full Moon Entertainment has never exactly been shy about stealing ideas, and this direct-to-video proudly carries on that tradition. The film is awful, bordering on the hilariously terrible. But if you're in the mood for the least intimidating monsters ever—imagine hairy dwarfs cosplaying as ferns—cringe-worthy special effects, and an absurd twist ending, this might just scratch your itch…

  • Blue Sunshine

    Blue Sunshine

    ★★★★

Blue Sunshine delivers a stark dose of cinematic insanity where ex-hippies transform into bald, unhinged killers, thanks to a bad batch of LSD from their days of enlightenment—or disillusionment, depending on your trip. It's a satirical stab at acid movies, swapping out '60s body paint and optimism for a potent mix of nihilism, radical politics, and bleak cynicism. This film illustrates how the '60s dream turned into a '70s nightmare, with bad acid as the unlikely catalyst for a bald and murderous revolution.

    The Cat Creeps

    ★★★

Clocking in at just shy of an hour, The Cat Creeps paws at the horror genre with its old dark house setting and a black cat rumored to be a lady's soul reincarnate, but ultimately curls up as a standard mystery tale. Red herrings, plot points, and horror elements play a game of cat-and-mouse, appearing briefly before vanishing like a cat into the night. A 'B' movie through and through, it purrs for fans of vintage Universal horrors, yet it's more of a budget-friendly crime caper with a ghostly whisker or two.

  • Interrabang

    Interrabang

    ★★★

Interrabang is a slow burn with plenty of eye candy - specifically, sun-kissed beach vistas, tanned female bodies and a whole lot of steamy sexual tension. Our trio of stunning ladies and one shady guy spend most of their time soaking up the sun and spouting pseudo-philosophical musings that'll make you scratch your head. It's all set to the sultry sounds of Berto Pisano's mid-tempo score, which adds to the overall vibe of languid sensuality. And, of course, there's the mind-bending finale that will leave you reeling with ambiguous satisfaction.
