Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion 1997
My first letterboxd review has to be about a masterpiece. End of Evangelion focuses on the same existential themes we’ve seen plenty of times, but presents them far more audaciously (and way cooler obviously. It’s mecha) than I’ve ever seen. This movie is depressing, outstanding, absurd and a perfect finale to a ride you’ll never get off of. Hideaki Anno, you fucking freak.
