Legitimately shocked how good SZA is. Her and Keke’s chemistry felt extremely genuine. Female Buddy comedies are so in and I’m absolutely here for it. As my wife would say, men are trash.

The Apprentice 2024
Not getting political but I fucking hate Trump.
With that being said just an incredible performance from Sebastian Stan, didn’t feel like an impression for one second. Felt more like a movie about a man’s dissent into darkness and immorality rather than anything politically charged. Jeremy Strong is a tour de force proving while an absolute nut job is one of the best we have going right now.
The plot itself kinda lost me in the last 35? Lost some steam. But you stay for the acting. Underrated overall.

Pearl 2022
Compared to its predecessor, Pearl is equally as unhinged but with a completely different tone, style, and color pallet. In my opinion, a step up in writing. More character study than horror. While Mia Goth was fantastic in X, this is on another level. Raw, emotional, and innocent while at the same time, terrifying. Her monologue in the third act is one of the more memorable movie moments I have had in the past few years. Chilling.
By the looks of Maxxxine. Ti West is set to make three really strong and most importantly unique horror films in the 21st century. That’s an impressive feat.
