The Truman Show 1998
Truly one of the most original scripts put on film. It has a warm 90s execution too kinda like Shawshank Redemption. You can’t not love it. Commentary on free will and entertainment adds some depth too. It’s been on my list for a long time and I’m not disappointed one bit. Also, Jim Carrey’s filmography will never not baffle me.

A Different Man 2024
I think the self-aware commentary the film plays into is clever and there’s some depth to the theme and statement it is making… up until the last 20 mins where it’s starts devolving a bit. Then it loses me. But I appreciate its originality.
Also, Stan and Pearson are solid but Renate Reinsve is the highlight for me. After The Worst Person in the World and this, I hope she gets some more roles in Hollywood.

This movie put me in a trance and didn’t let go. Incredible camera work and cinematography. The score is piercing and haunting. It absolutely makes this movie. Only gripe is that Wendy is so awful and annoying that I wished she got killed. Hopefully you guys can accept this as my apology. Happy Halloween
