This is what not reading a little about a film before watching it does to me, I feel so sad and SO lonely now, but the film was absolutely beautiful. I loved the way it weaved in the different places and times and memories... The film flowed like a stream down a mountainside.
I hate that this film was available only in 3D near me because I couldn't admire the art direction, costumes and set design at all since 3D dims the screen and also makes the background much more blurry...
Otherwise this film was fun, I feel like I'm in the minority when I say that as far as musicals go I didn't feel that little excitement and jump in my step to the musical numbers. I didn't feel that gasping wonder…
I really loved this film, and it's rhythms through each different character. I love how it showed sadness and loneliness through some characters, but somehow it didn't feel heavy and hopeless, the resilience of human spirit and connection still shone through the strongest. I also love the documentary touches of the film, with shots of the city and voice overs.
A good horror film leaves enough unknown to leave you with the feeling of horror, and Incantation did that well. I love horror films where the entity is more than a malicious demon, but something difficult to comprehend. The idea of the more you know about it, the more power it has over you was cool and remenicent of The Ring.
