The filmmaking is solid and the premise is good but felt this was let down by some subpar performances and (ironically) in need of a bit more of an edit for pacing.

A nice looking film, and the beginning showed promise, but overall this was let down for me by the sheer amount of slasher level logic and decision making.

A promising, if formulaic start devolves into a fantastical (and nonsensical) final act. There’s a bit to like here with the costumes and some effects but there is nary a scare to be found, and I ultimately found this way too pretentious to be entertaining.

Found the first 30-40 minutes a bit condensed and confusingly edited and a bit at arm’s length. Then the film shifts into gear and it’s just utterly engrossing.

Remains absolutely shocking and scary even today, and defies a lot of modern horror by doing its spooks out in the light. Often times things are happening in the daytime or mostly well lit rooms, and there’s almost zero actual jump scares, and yet it manages to be incredibly effective.

Not much needs to said about Linda Blair. Absolutely masterful performance.
