Alien: Romulus 2024
A pretty good suspense thriller horror movie that makes you feel a bit disgusted and scared at the same time. By far the best character in the movie was the AI Andy and he killed it in every scene he was in. I feel the movie would've landed more and been even better if I had watched the other Aliens movies or wasn't closing my eyes whenever anything scary happened.

As someone who hadn't read the books and had just heard this movie was about domestic violence I kept waiting to see the domestic violence play out on screen! But the movie did a good job in showing DV from the lens of a victim where actual occurrences get framed as "accidents" in their minds which keep them in the abusive relationship. I do think the movie was too slow though and the buildup in the beginning could've been shortened more. I also think movie might have been better if i actually walked in blind.

Pixar really needed a win after the mixed reviews for Lightyear and Elementals, and Inside Out 2 delivers. It keeps the fun elements of the original while exploring more of the fascinating world inside the mind. I loved seeing how they showed the brain and emotions developing as you grow up. The movie is funny but also stressful as you watch the main character go through a whirlwind of emotions.
